Snow is on the ground, Christmas lights are up, and holiday cards are starting to arrive – it feels every bit like the Christmas season. Whether you are already in full-on elf mode or you’re feeling a bit grinchy this year, here are some local events to put you in the Christmas spirit.
Carriage Rides and Santa on High Street
December 14 & 21, 2-7pm
Santa, Mrs. Clause and the elves are taking over Pottstown. Take a picture with Santa, listen to story time with the Elves, and even have tea with Mrs. Clause. No need to walk, ride in style with a carriage ride down High Street. If you need some private time to shop, free babysitting will be provided.
Pottsgrove Manor – Twelfth Night Tours

On this tour of the Yuletide-decorated Pottsgrove Manor, you will learn about the traditional English customs of Twelfth Night.

Though it’s not a Christmas musical, this is a show for both adults and children. Before the show, take a walk down High Street and enjoy the decorations.

Local vendors display everything from antiques to beauty products. Do some last minute shopping while sipping on free beer from Philadelphia Brewing Company.
Stay jolly by shopping in 65 specialty shops, all decorated for the season. Kids will enjoy visiting Santa and the Gingerbread House Display. If you stay for dinner on a Friday or Saturday, enjoy a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater at Peddler’s Pub.

There’s nothing like Philadelphia during the holidays. Visit Christmas Village in Love Park for an international shopping experience. Enjoy the tastes and smells of warm waffles, gingerbread, and mulled wine. While in Center City, stop by Macy’s in the Wanamaker Building for the holiday lights show.
